Pharmacy Director
The Pharmacy Director will report to and work with the Director of Pharmacy to ensure compliance with the organization’s formulary, conduct utilization review and implement cost-efficiency practices, and manage all pharmacy department staff.  

Description of work:
  • The Pharmacy Director will oversee and manage pharmacy staff
  • The Pharmacy Director will be responsible for drug programs, department projects and proper implementation of the formulary
  • The Pharmacy Director will conduct utilization reviews to ensure that pharmacy services are meeting organizational, State and Federal quality and regulations
  • The Pharmacy Director will collaborate with medical providers to deliver resources and education to the community
  • The Pharmacy Director will lead education and development for facility and update authorization criteria
  • The Pharmacy Director will mentor, guide and motivate support staff through demonstration of best practices
  • The Pharmacy Director will participate in program audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with State and Federal requrements 
  • The Pharmacy Director will manage contracting and negations with the Benefits Manager for the Pharmacy
Requirements and Desired Characteristics:
- Doctor of Pharmacy
- Current California Pharmacist license
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- 6 years of experience as a practicing pharmacist, with experience with drug formularies and billings
- 3 years of experience leading a team in a Pharmacy setting as manager or supervisor
- 1 year of Directorial experience
- Experience in Managed Care and contract negotiations  
- Familiarity with computerized drug programs
- Knowledge of Medi-Cal and other prepaid health programs
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate and detailed records
