Psychiatry Medical Director Quincy, MA (Boston's south shore) Hospital is seeking a full time Psychiatrist to become an integral member of our Quincy unit program, an 18-bed High Intensity Inpatient Psychiatric Unit located in Quincy, Massachusetts.
 
The ideal candidate will be BC/BE in Psychiatry with an interest in Leadership and high risk behavior cases. The Quincy Unit Physicians and staff cares for male, female and transgender patients 18 years of age and older who are in need of targeted, specifically designed treatment.
 
The services are accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by both the MA Department of Mental Health and Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Abuse Services.
 
The position offers a very competitive compensation package of full time salary, Medical Director designation, full benefits package, including paid time off, CME and malpractice reimbursement and the opportunity to earn additional income.
 
The Quincy Unit, a program of Hospital, is an 18-bed High Intensity Inpatient Psychiatric Unit located in Quincy, Mass. The focus of the unit is to care for male, female and transgender patients 18 years of age and older who are in need of targeted treatment. It houses predominantly single-patient rooms, enabling Hospital to provide services for patients who have clinical presentations that benefit from single room availability and special observation including, but not limited to, those who may be assaultive or aggressive.
 
The therapeutic milieu is designed to be an interpersonal environment which contributes to patients’ recovery. Daily events, interactions and surroundings are purposefully structured to help patients learn more responsible ways of behaving and coping with problems.
 
Treatment is multimodal and includes
:• Psychopharmacology
• Individual and Group Therapy
• Occupational Therapy enhanced by utilization of sensory interventions
 
Therapeutic modalities include psychotherapeutic intervention, activities of daily living, and psycho-education with individual and groups of patients. Other consultation services available include nutritional, psychological, neurological and somatic therapy including electroconvulsive treatment.
